e-STUDIO242 Series Awarded Outstanding Ratings 2010

Singapore, 30 July 2010

Toshiba e-STUDIO monochrome multifunction printers (MFPs), the e-STUDIO242 series, have been awarded the BERTL's BEST 2010 and four and half stars outstanding awards. This series has been recognized by its overall performance, ease of use and high monochrome image quality. It is also highly recommended for its eco-friendly features for small and medium offices that require a reliable and easy-to-use monochrome printer.

The e-STUDIO242 series satisfy the demand for excellent image quality of 2400dpi x 600 dpi and an output speed of up to 24 pages per minute (ppm). This series provide clear and crisp images, even on jobs with fine details such as business presentations, photographs and charts. BERTL analysts rated highly on the versatile media handling and flexibility, with the ability to print on stock as heavy as 90 lbs index (bypass tray) and paper sizes up to 11”x 17”.

Users will find the e-STUDIO242 series exceptionally easy to use and navigate. The control panel’s hard keys are large, well-organized, and clearly labeled, while the LCD screen features text for easy viewing. All print drivers provide bi-directional communication, so users can quickly check device status. BERTL also found replacing the toner cartridges and removing any mis-feeds simple process and hassle-free. The toner IC Chip in the MFP recognizes if the device is using the correct toner, preventing any damage that can be done by inserting the wrong toner cartridge. It also maximizes the best image quality achieved.

The e-STUDIO242 series feature flexible desktop and network administration via the Toshiba TopAccess utility. The web-based remote device management tool provides device, job and consumables status as well as network configuration, access management and accounting control for administrators. Further utility features include: e-BRIDGE Job Build to create multiple sets of a document from different document types and e-BRIDGE Job Separator to create multiple sets of a job divided by a separator page. The e-BRIDGE Fleet Management System, a client-server based software, allows for centralised management of multiple MFPs on a network, thus enhancing productivity in every part of an office environment.

Toshiba is also committed to the ongoing protection of the environment and renewable resources without compromising consumer productivity. The e-STUDIO242 series uses superior energy and supply-saving features such as fast warm-up, first copy out times, GDI double sided printing and auto-sleep mode and is compliant with international standards including Energy Star.
